Our Story

One Kind Favor was launched by Pilot Mountain Unites, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Pilot Mountain, North Carolina. What began as a local effort to help neighbors facing food insecurity and utility shutoffs has grown into a nationwide charitable platform — a digital bulletin board and crowdfunding hub where anyone can ask for help or offer one kind deed.

We believe dignity matters. Every person who submits a request is treated with respect. Every volunteer and donor who steps forward is celebrated. And every favor fulfilled — no matter how small — strengthens the fabric of our communities.

Pilot Mountain Unites

Pilot Mountain Unites is the nonprofit parent organization that operates and funds One Kind Favor. From our office at 115 E Main Street in downtown Pilot Mountain, we coordinate volunteer teams, manage donor relationships, and ensure that assistance reaches the people who need it most — both locally in Surry County and through our expanding national network.

  • 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status — donations may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law
  • Transparent operations — annual impact reports available upon request
  • Community roots — founded by local residents who saw neighbors struggling and decided to act
